Understanding What Each Team Role Can Do
When you invite someone to AstaBill, you assign them a role. Each role controls what they can see and do in your account.
When you invite someone to AstaBill, you assign them a role. Each role controls what they can see and do in your account.
Roles and permissions:
- Admin — Can do everything: create and send invoices, manage customers, change settings, invite other team members, and view billing. Use this for a trusted business partner or co-founder.
- Accountant — Can view all invoices and financial data, export reports, and mark invoices as paid. Cannot change business settings or invite other members. Ideal for your external accountant or bookkeeper.
- Viewer — Read-only access. Can view invoices and customer records but cannot create, edit, or delete anything. Useful for a supervisor who needs visibility without the ability to make changes.
Tip: When in doubt, assign the lowest role that covers what the person needs. You can always increase someone's access later — it's harder to undo a mistake if they had too much access to begin with.
