How Customers Pay via the Public Invoice Link

Once you've set up your payment account, your customers can pay directly from their invoice — no AstaBill account needed.


Once you've set up your payment account, your customers can pay directly from their invoice without needing a AstaBill account. Here's what their experience looks like — it helps to know this so you can guide them if they get confused.

What the customer sees:

  1. 1They receive an invoice link (via email or WhatsApp).
  2. 2They open it in any browser — phone or laptop, no login needed.
  3. 3They see a clean invoice with your business details, any prior payments, and the current amount due.
  4. 4They click Pay Now.
  5. 5If you enabled partial payments, they can choose how much to pay toward the remaining balance.
  6. 6Paystack's checkout appears. They can pay by debit or credit card, bank transfer, or mobile money (MTN MoMo / AirtelTigo Money).
  7. 7They complete payment and receive a confirmation.
  8. 8You get notified instantly, and the invoice updates to partially paid or paid in your AstaBill dashboard.

Tip: If a customer says they couldn't pay, ask them to try a different browser or turn off any VPN they might be using. Most payment issues come down to connectivity or browser compatibility.
