How to Add Line Items, Taxes, and Discounts to an Invoice

AstaBill lets you break down your charges by item, apply VAT or other taxes, and offer discounts — all in one place.

Most invoices aren't just one flat amount. AstaBill lets you break down your charges by item, apply VAT or other taxes, and offer discounts — all in one place.

Steps:

  1. 1While creating or editing an invoice, scroll to the Line Items section.
  2. 2Click Add Item and enter a description, quantity, and unit price.
  3. 3Repeat for each product or service.
  4. 4To add tax, click the Tax dropdown on a line item and select your rate (e.g. 15% VAT). You can apply different tax rates to different items.
  5. 5To add a discount, enter a percentage or fixed amount in the Discount field.
  6. 6The invoice total updates automatically.

Note: If you're GRA e-VAT registered, your VAT settings will pull through automatically once enabled. See articles 24–27 for details.
